Our beliefs
GOD the Father: God is our Father, the creator and ruler of the universe. HE is self-existent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. HE has no beginning and no end. HE rules for ever. HE is the first person of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). HE has many names but is more often referred to as JEHOVAH or YAHWEH (YHWH). (Gen. 1:1, 26-27, 3:22, Rev. 1:8, Jhn. 1:1-3, 1 Pet. 1:2, 1 Jhn. 5:7-8)
JESUS: HE is the only begotten Son of the Father and was born of a virgin called Mary. HE was conceived by the Holy Spirit. HE lived a life without sin. HE was 100% man and 100% God. HE died on the cross and was raised from the dead on the third day. HE is seated at the right hand of God the Father and will return soon. HE will rule as King forever. (Gen 3:15, Isa. 7:14, Isa. 9:6-7, Psa. 22:1, 31:5, Gen 22:4, Psa. 16:10-11, Jon. 1:17, Dan 9:26, 11:31, 12:1, 11, Acts 13:30)
HOLY SPIRIT: HE is the third person of the Trinity and is God. HE is currently in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus-Christ. HE is our Teacher to understand Scripture. HE is our comforter and giver of peace in our daily lives. HE helps us to pray. HE lives in us. HE gives the believer spiritual gifts for the benefit of the church and for signs to draw men to Jesus-Christ. (Acts 1:8, Rom. 8:27, Jhn. 16:7-15, 1 Cor. 2:12, 12:1-11, Eph. 1:13-14, 2 Tim. 1:13-14)
The Bible: It is the Divinely inspired Word of God. All its 66 books were written by 40 authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is infallible and reliable, and was given to mankind for guidance and for daily living. (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:20-21, Pro. 30:5)
Salvation: We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. No man can come to God unless he comes thru the Mediator, the Door, Jesus-Christ, the Son of God. All men can be saved. To be saved one must believe in his heart that God raised Jesus-Christ from the dead and confess with his mouth that Jesus-Christ is Lord. Salvation is permanent and secure in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom. 6:23, Eph. 2:5-9, Jhn. 14:6, Titus 3:5)
THE CHURCH: She is made up of believers in Jesus-Christ. The Church is not a building but an assembly of people whose father is JEHOVAH, who are born-again and finally who are led by the Holy Spirit. The head of the Church is Christ. (Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 12:27, Eph, 1:22,23, Rev. 1, 2, 3)
Humanity and sin: Man was created in the image and likeness of God on the 6th day and God breathed the breath of life into man. Through disobedience in eating of the forbidden fruit, man sinned and was separated from God. Thus man is in need of a Savior, the man Jesus-Christ to be reconciled to God. Jesus is the only Mediator between Man and God the Father for salvation. HIS Blood is the only atoning vector to cover man's sin (Rom. 5:12, Rom. 3:23, 1 Jhn. 3:8, Heb. 9:13-15, 28, 10:10-12)
Eternity: Whether we accept Christ or not, our souls are destined to live in eternity. Eternity with God is for the believers in Jesus-Christ and eternal damnation in the "lake of fire" is for those who rejected Jesus-Christ, the Gift of God. (1 Th. 4:16, 17, Rev. 20:6, Heb. 9:27, Rev. 20:15)
Security: Man has eternal life through the Son of God, Jesus-Christ. Thus, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is a free gift to all men and is maintained solely by the grace and power of God. No man can earn or deserve it. No man can take away our salvation because God Himself holds us in the palm of His hand. (Rom. 8:35-39, Jas. 5:19-20, Jud. 1:24, Rev. 1, 2, 3, Rev. 20:4-6)
Hell: Also known as Hades or Sheol, it is a place of torment where those who are not saved await the final judgement of the "great white throne". On that day hell itself will be cast into the lake of fire. (Luke 16:23-26, Rev 20:11-15)
Satan and demons: They are real and are spiritual beings. They oppress, buffet, possess, hinder, afflict with sickness, lie, steal, kill, destroy, and many more. The believer in Christ has authority over them and over all their powers. Satan (the Accuser) is their ruler and is also called the Adversary and opposes the church. He will be cast into the lake of fire with death, hell, his fallen angels and demons, the beast and the false prophet. (2 Cor 12:7, Mark 5:9, Mar 9;17, Jude 1:6, Rev 19:20, 20:10, vv13-15)
What we do...
We are thrilled and excited to see what the LORD is doing across the world and especially in East Africa. In 2020 we plan to reach West Africa by year's end.
Currently in Tanzania, we are supporting the widows and the orphans through school supplies donations, project grants, and professional skills training.
We are teaching women, skills such as sewing, housekeeping, reading and writing in English.
We partner with a ground team to train women on basic business skills, financial literacy, budget management and much more!
Burning Bush Missions is much more than prayers and teaching. We empower the weak and disenfranchised through practical social programs across the world with able and proven partners.
